Temerity was founded in June 2009 by people that love to raid and had been successful in top 100 guilds, but grew tired of hardcore guilds that required 5-7 nights per week raiding. Our founders' mission was to apply our hardcore raiding mindset and experience and create a guild where we could accomplish more in 3 short raids per week than most guilds can in 5.
Our model proved itself when shortly after forming we were the 145th US guild to earn Alone in the Darkness (25 player), and our success continued with top 75-100 hard mode kills of bosses throughout the remainder of WotLK.
In Tier 11 content, Temerity has continued its momentum with several top 50-75 kills including US 40th Heroic Al'akir, US 57th Heroic Cho'gall and US 49th Heroic Sinestra.
In Tier 12, we built on our previous successes by securing numerous top 50 kills, including US 25th Heroic Rhyolith, US 34th Heroic Alysrazor, US 36th Heroic Ragnaros, US 39th Beth'tilac, and US 49th Heroic Baleroc. Our relatively highly ranked Ragnaros kill paved the way for an overall ranking of of US 36th.
Finally, in Tier 13, despite the onerous class-stacking requirements of Heroic Spine of Deathwing, Temerity accomplished the US 36th kill of Heroic Spine of Deathwing and quickly moved on to get the US 31st kill of Heroic Madness of Deathwing. Along the way, we also were fortunate enough to attain US 24th Heroic Ultraxion and US 28th Heroic Warmaster. Temerity's progress in Tier 13 was astounding, and our overall improvement over the length of Cataclysm was remarkable. We are very proud of what we've accomplished as a 3-night guild, but our focus is on conquering the challenges ahead.
With the Cataclysm having ended, we're very excited to be heading into Mists of Pandaria and look forward to more tiers of awesome raiding.
We believe that it is not necessary to raid 4, 5, or even 6 nights per week to kill cutting edge progression bosses. We feel that a little bit of time spent planning and thinking outside of raid can make up for A LOT of that time we don't have inside the raid.
We utilize live logging to help identify and address problems we encounter on a boss as quickly as possible. While this enables us to make prompt strategy adjustments in many cases, we try to avoid reinventing strategies during raid. Our strategy forums are extremely active as our raiders and team leads discuss possible changes for progression bosses; this out-of-raid discussion and analysis is the key to our success.
Most of our members have families and careers and so we emphasize making the most of the few hours each week we raid. We treat each other with respect and demand high performance, excellent gameplay, and positive attitudes. We don't tolerate some of the racist, sexist, homophobic, or other high-testosterone attitudes often present in endgame raiding guilds. Our standards for intra-guild conduct apply to inter-guild relations as well. We expect our members to avoid any server forum/trade chat drama.
Thanks in part to our raiding model and in part to our culture, Temerity has an extremely stable raiding core and very low turnover. We are proud that our raiders enjoy our environment and choose to continue to raid with us tier after tier. All of our officers were either founding members or joined within the first week of Temerity's existence, many of our earliest members are still with us, and the majority of our roster is "Veteran" rank or higher, meaning they have been with us for four months or more.
Our Raid Schedule
Hardcore raiding on a condensed schedule. That's us. Temerity raids on the following schedule:
- Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday
- 8:00PM until 12:00AM PST
- Muster at 7:45PM PST
Rather than fill 5 raid nights with afks, endless bio breaks, slow buffing & pulling, and failed attempts due to amorphous strategies, we use 3 nights with little to no downtime and organized plans. We have proven that with our approach we can accomplish more than most guilds that raid 5-7 nights a week can. Perhaps best of all, there's time left in the week for jobs, relationships, and non-raid play!
Given our abbreviated schedule, we expect 100% attendance from all raiders. It is crucial for us to be able to plan raids ahead of time and not spend large amounts of time shuffling raids, adjusting composition, asking people to play off-spec, etc. Occasional absence due to real-life conflicts will not be penalized, but continued absence and tardiness can result in demotion or EP penalties.
Our loot system promotes punctuality. We reward a significant on-time bonus and end-of-raid bonus to reward being ready when we begin and staying until the end.
Our Loot System
Temerity uses the EPGP loot system. This system is designed to ensure that loot is handed out fairly, objectively, and prevent unwanted behavior such as hoarding. Raiders can download and install the addon and see their priority as well as all other guild members' priority.
